Traffic delays caused by construction of Toronto’s Eglinton Crosstown light rail transit (LRT) system have been a headache for drivers, but it will become a godsend for residents and businesses along the corridor once it’s finally completed in the next three or four years.

Business student Karan Kundra doesn't own a car, and doesn't expect to buy one anytime soon. He has, however, purchased a condo at Vaughan Metropolitan Centre, the terminus for the Spadina subway extension scheduled to open late next year.

Developer Lindvest is moving quickly to capitalize on the building of the new LRT route along Eglinton with its new Sonic condominium project.

"We want sites where people want to live," says Michoel Klugmann of Lindvest. That seems a pretty standard philosophy for any residential developer, but while many would find a site in Toronto's busy downtown core, Lindvest's new project, Sonic Condominiums, is at Eglinton Avenue East and Don Mills Road.

Billed as the future perfect condo, Sonic will enjoy a pioneering location nearby the Eglinton Crosstown LRT in the geographic heart of the GTA. Most suites have generous balconies and will offer spectacular cityscape views.
